Effiduasehene swears oath of allegiance

Mampong (Ash), April 11, GNA - Nana Osei Worae II, Effiduasehene, on Monday swore the oath of allegiance to Mamponghene, Daasebere Osei Bonsu II, at a packed Amaniampong Silver Stool Palace at Asante Mampong.

This is the second time Nana Worae has sworn the oath allegiance to the Mamponghene. The ceremony, among other things, marked his renewed commitment to serve as the Nifahene of Mamponghene, a position he once held but was compelled to abdicate some years back owning to protracted chieftaincy disputes.

The Mamponghene called for unity among all traditional rulers, which he observed, is the pivot around which the needs of the people they serve could be met.

He contended that the present generation is looking for leaders with vision and capable of inspiring them on to greater heights in life and urged traditional rulers to live up to that challenge.

The Mamponghene admonished chiefs and their elders to follow the laid down procedures in solving issues and warned that any traditional ruler found lodging complaint at the offices of the Asantehene without the knowledge of Mampongman Council would not be spared.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu expressed his gratitude to the revitalised Mampongman Council for making a positive impact in the handling of chieftaincy disputes.
