In A Different Country

The New Free Press condemns unreservedly the comments by Hon Kennedy Agyepong , MP for Assin North and his comments have no place in our politics.
We have seen the comments made by the group Forum for Governance and Justice and Mr Allotey Jacobs, regarding Oman FM owned by Mr Agyepong ad the idea that radio stations that incite hatred should be banned. These suggestions would be practical and realistic except that those advocating it are being hypocritical.
Dr cleet Apaak and Allotey Jacobs have appeared on Radio Gold, a station noted for spreading tribalism and supporting the hegemony of certain tribes in Ghana and whaere individuals like Kwasi Pratt, Kwadwo Twum Boafo , Okudzeto Abalakwa , Alhaji Idrissu Bature of the Al Hajj newspaper and Owula Mangotey have made tribal statements against Akans and nobody has said anything. Unless Mr Apaak and his friends are not honest, what did he say or do when
a. James Agyenim Boateng, now deputy minister for information who as a presenter on Radio Gold incited Ghanaians to go to Electoral commission with sticks, guns and cutlasses?
b. Nii Lantei Vanderpuiye, daring anybody who was a man to come to odododiodio and that he would shed blood?
c. Koku Anyidoho, spokesperson of the president, daring Jake Obestebi Lamptey and Nana Akufo Addo and telling them they would be the first to visit their ancestors if they tried anything?
d. President Mills himself, then candidate Mills in 2007 who said that Ghana would burn like Kenya if the NPP tried to steal the 2008 elections!
e. Nana Konadu Rawlings, former first lady who said Ghana would burn into ashes ?
f. Derrick Adjei, leader of a group called GA Adangbe youth now Deputy co-ordinator for the National Youth Authority who said Ex President John Agyekum Kufuor should go to Ashanti Region and look for an office and that he should stay off lands owned by Gas.
None of these persons have ever been charged for treason or any crime of any sort. Neither have they appeared in any court of law . Are they superior to other Ghanaians ?

Those who cry for justice and yet don’t apply it when it goes against them are deceitful and downright dangerous to nation building. The wheels of Justice cannot be selective and particular. It should apply to everybody whether your party is in power or not and with this we are afraid, with events currently going on the government and its supporters cannot climb the moral high ground.
