Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo eulogised the late veteran journalist, Kobina Ebo Quansah, as someone who upheld high standards of journalistic principles and integrity throughout his professional career.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, Ebo Quansah, who until his death was the General Manager of The Chronicle Newspaper, was a fearless journalist whose professional life was worth emulating because he committed himself to fighting for press freedom.
The former president paid these compliments when the family of the late Ebo Quansah, together with officials of the Chronicle, visited Nana Addo to officially invite him to the final funeral rites of the veteran whose journalism career spanned over four decades.
Nana Akufo-Addo described Ebo Quansah as a fearless critic of regimes. Using his pen to hold leaders accountable for their actions and inactions without fear.
He stated, "He was fearless, principled and deeply dedicated to the advancement of our democracy through an independent press," adding that Ebo Quansah was "one of the most avid writers" he had known in the media ecosystem in the country.
A tribute to Ebo Quansah
He praised the former SWAG president for promoting responsible journalism and democratic values with his critical editorial works, which kept governments on their toe.
The final funeral rites of the late Kobina Ebo Quansah will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at the Ekumfi Ekrawfo Community Park in the Central Region.
Ebo Quansah passed away on June 26, 2025, following a short illness.
