The Director of the Special Investigation Unit of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent Seth Sewornu, has confirmed that viral social media personality, Ebo Noah, will be arraigned before court on January 2, 2025.
According to the police, Ebo Noah is currently in custody and will face charges of false communication with intent to put the public into fear and panic.
Speaking in an interview with Blakk Rasta on January 1, 2025, Chief Supt Sewornu dismissed claims that Ebo Noah had built a boat in preparation for an impending disaster.
“Ebo Noah is in custody and we will send him to court tomorrow. The charges are false communication with intent to put the public into fear and panic,” he said.
The police further clarified that investigations disclosed Ebo Noah did not construct any boat, contrary to widely circulated videos and images on social media.
“He didn’t build any boat. The boat is for someone. He went to stand by the side and took all those pictures. He enhanced it to make it look like a large boat,” he explained.

Providing further details about the suspect, the police revealed that Ebo Noah is not a pastor and does not operate any church, as was earlier speculated by some members of the public.
“He’s a security man at a private school in Madina. He’s not a man of God and he has no church. He’s very normal but he’s just a fraudster,” he noted.
Chief Supt Sewornu disclosed that Ebo Noah admitted his actions were purely for online engagement.
“He said he was just creating content. He’s locked up and he will appear before the court tomorrow. He’s been very calm in the cell and he said he regrets it,” he shared.
The police officer noted that Ebo Noah had been advised that if his actions were intended as a joke or content creation, he should have clearly informed the public to avoid panic.
“We told him if he was just creating content, he should have just told the public it’s all jokes,” he added.
