EX-MCE goes wild over attempts to dent his image

...presents hard facts and evidence to rubbish allegations

The former MCE of Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly has expressed his readiness to appear before CHRAJ and EOCO over corruption allegations leveled against him by an Assembly Member for West Nkpor electoral area, and the NPP Constituency Secretary for Krowor, Hon. Prince Saana Aminu.

Among other allegations, Prince Aminu cited Hon. Daniel Amartey Mensah for misappropriating fund, buying of an Urvan instead of an ambulance for the Municipal Health directorate, making false documents to secure contracts for his cronies and dishing out mobilization funds for no work done.

In his first point of contention, the NPP man states that between 2011 and 2012, Hon. Amartey as MCE spent Ghc149,600 to buy a caravan vehicle and presented it to the Health directorate as an Ambulance.

But Enquirer checks indicate the said ambulance is fully functional and was commissioned by the then Greater Accra Regional Minister, Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, on the 6th of December 2012 in the presence of LEKMA Assembly members, health directorate staff and the general public.

In fact, Tanik Ghana Limited, a Tema Based company is said to be appraising Aminu Saana’s allegations to see if there is enough grounds to sue for defamation.

Secondly, Prince Aminu’s claims that M/S SOFOBI Ltd was given mobilization fund of Ghc90,950.19 to rehabilitate the Teshie Community Library but never set foot on site is untenable as our checks indicate the contractor has indeed executed the contract and has raised certificate of works three times besides the Mobilization fund.

Again, his claim of non-existent companies being awarded contracts is palpably false, as the stated companies are duly registered with the capacity to execute the contracts so awarded.

The Enquirer has traced African Connections, a company cited by Prince Aminu as having been paid Ghc40,000 unilaterally under the pretence of sending four delegations to participate in the 9th Focus on Africa Trade and Business Investment Mission in New York by Hon. Amartey which can be located at East Legon in Accra.

We have also found out that, the supposed ghost company was introduced by the then Local Government Minister, NII Armah Ashitey in 2011.

Hon. Amartey asserts Prince Aminu Saana is being used as the hatchet boy by his detractors to dent his image and also derail his efforts at annexing the Regional Chairmanship position of the NDC, but maintains he is focused and resolute in his agenda and no amount of targeted mudslinging and character assassination will stop him.
