EU Projects Commissioned

A number of European Union sponsored micro projects in the Sisala, Jirapa/Lambusie and Lawra Districts of the Upper West Region have been commissioned at separate functions at Sakai, Sabuli and Nandom. The projects include a clinic, a day care and home science centres estimated at 86 million cedis. Seventy five percent of the cost was borne by the European Union while the district assemblies and the beneficiary communities paid for the remaining twenty five percent. The Head of the EU Delegation in Ghana, Mr. Javier Puyol, commended the beneficiary communities for their active participation in the implementation of the projects. The Upper West Deputy Regional Minister, Mr. Bede Ziedeng, thanked the European Union for the assistance and said it will go a long way to improve the living standards of the beneficiary communities. he stressed the need for people in the region to give priority attention to the development of education so as to enhance the speedy socio-economic development of the area.
