EOCO to arrest dismissed Ridge Hospital boss soon – Omari Wadei reveals

A former Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Omari Wadei, has revealed that the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) will soon arrest the dismissed director of Ridge Regional Hospital, Dr. Thomas Anaba.

Anaba, according to Mr. Wadei, will be interrogated by the State security agency over some alleged corrupt practices that happened under his care.

Mr. Wadei who seems to have more information about the dismissed director of the Ridge Regional Hospital but will not share at least for now, told Akwasi Nsiah, host of Si Me So on Kasapa 102.5 FM, Monday, that details over reasons for the dismissed doctor will soon be made public when EOCO picks him up.

Dr. Anaba was on Monday, May 15, 2017, reported to have been relieved of his post despite his appointment running through to 2020 with an option to re-apply.

No reason was assigned to his revoked appointment by the Public Service Commission and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) Council, his employers.

However, sources within the medical circles say the revocation of Dr. Anaba’s appointment is political.

Dr. Anaba never enjoyed peace from the working staff of the Ridge Regional Hospital ever since he was appointed head of that medical facility.

His tenure was characterized with protests from the working staff that preferred Dr. Emmanuel Srofenyo, popularly known as Srof, who was the acting Medical Director of the facility, as head of the Hospital.

In the view of the staff, Dr. Anaba was not competent for the position he was occupying.

His appointment was also said to have violated the selection process.
