ECOWAS Council Of Elders To Meet In Accra

ECOWAS Chairman, President Kufuor will host the second ECOWAS Council of Elders meeting to be held in Accra on Wednesday. The meeting at the La Palm Royal Hotel Conference Centre will be attended by all 15 members of the ECOWAS Council.

Nigeria, Togo, Liberia and Ghana are among the 15 member states attending the ECOWAS Council meeting. A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said some former heads of state including General Yakubu Gowon of Nigeria and Antonio Mas Carenhas Monteiro of Cape Verde are among the dignitaries invited. The meeting is expected to discuss the security situation in the sub-region and economic integration.
