The leadership of the Progressive People’s Party(PPP) is accusing the Electoral Commission of abandoning its offices after disqualifying its flagbearer, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom.
The PPP said attempts to get the EC officials to clarify their decision on the disqualification of its candidate have proven futile.
The National Secretary of the PPP, Murtala Mohammed said the party still requires better and further particulars to address the situation at hand.
“…We didn’t receive any communication from them so we wanted to engage them, but when we went there they weren’t around and they have left a letter,” Murtala said.
According to him, the party supporters have today besieged their offices and seeking to protest the disqualification of the flagbearer, hence they will need the EC to cooperate to resolve the issues.
He however called for calm among members of the party as the leadership of the party makes efforts to deal with the matter.
Meanwhile, the leader of the party, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is scheduled to address a Press conference in the capital, Accra today on the issue.
