The district office of the Electoral Commission (EC) in Lawra in the Upper West Region has been ransacked, TV3 has gathered.

The incident happened Friday dawn.

Two desktop computers containing data on the recently held limited voters’ registration exercise, our correspondent said, were stolen.

The alleged crime was committed by unknown persons but, so far, the security man at the office has been picked up for investigation.

The Lawra District Security Council is handling the case, our correspondent reported.

Security has since been beefed up around the office.
