E.T. Mensah Chased Out By Angry Youth at Dawhenya

Credible information reaching The Moment indicates that some angry youth, a couple of weeks ago, heavily descended on the Minister of Works, Water Resources and Housings, Hon. Emmanuel Teye Mensah and four national security personnel for trespassing on their land.

The angry youth, according to sources, nearly shot the Minister and the other four at Dawhenya, on a land opposite the Central University College in the Dangme West District of the Greater Accra Region.

According to insiders, they were attacked with all manner of offensive weapons by the youth at Dawhenya, near Central University College, where for fear of their lives Hon. E.T. Mensah and national security personnel took to their heels for fear of being lynched.

According to sources, Mr. E. T. Mensah who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo-Prampram constituency and heavily armed soldiers and police numbering about four went to the aforementioned land which was allegedly given to him by the Arden and Dorpoh families of Prampram, other rival claimants to Dawhenya lands to demarcate the land.

Speaking in an inclusive interview with The Moment to confirm the attack on Mr. E. T Mensah and four security personnel, a leading member of OSU-WEM ABLADE Family, Mrs. Agnes Nortey Sai said though they were not behind the attack on E.T Mensah and the security, they think the actions of the youth was to forewarn E. T Mensah to decline his wrong acquisition of the 1000 acres of land to avoid further calamities.

She noted that the OSU WEM ABLADE, the flag-bearer of Prampram-Dawhenya lands over-heard that Mr. E.T Mensah and security personnel had fled to safety in their vehicles, amidst shooting guns by the angry youth of the area, and all attempts to reach E.T Mensah on his cell phone as at press time proved futile.

She disclosed that on Saturday October 6, 2012, when they were going to a funeral at Torkpor in the Volta Region, they spotted Mr. E.T Mensah and some top castle officials organizing a massive party for the Dawhenya chief, Kweku Dorpoh, and his entourage in the bush of where the said land is situated in the area. The party, according to the visibly irate Madam Sai, they had information that it was organized by E.T Mensah for the Dawhenya chief and his elders to officially hand over the controversial 1000 acres of land to E.T. Mensah who she alleged assisted the two families to win the case at the court of Appeal against OSU WEM family.
