The Dwan Youth Association in Kwame Danso in the Sene West District of the Bono East Region has rendered an unreserved apology following a violent attack on the Kwame Danso Police Station and the District Court.

The apology, offered to the Judicial Council of Ghana, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Minister for the Interior, concerns the unfortunate incident that disrupted judicial and security operations, drawing widespread public concern and negative publicity.

Speaking at a press conference in Kwame Danso, the Vice Chairman of the association, Alfred Nyarko, who described the action as acts of “hooliganism”, expressed deep regret over the incident by the yet-to-be-identified group, describing it as unfortunate and inconsistent with the values of peace and respect for the rule of law upheld by the community.

“We condemn the action of the perpetrators in no uncertain terms and express our desire to cooperate and support the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to conduct investigations and bring the real perpetrators to book. We see the action of the perpetrators as an act of hooliganism and a flagrant disregard for the rule of law.”

Alfred Nyarko appealed to the Judicial Council of Ghana and the Ghana Police Service to reconsider their decision and restore services in the area, as residents are already feeling the impact of their absence, including rising insecurity and limited access to justice.

“To plead with the Judicial Council of Ghana and the IGP to reconsider their decisions to close down the Kwame Danso District Court and the Police Station in the Bono East Region.”

An irate group besieged the District Court and the District Police Headquarters in Kwame Danso on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, disrupting official court proceedings.

An official police statement indicated that the mob, numbering about 100, allegedly besieged the Kwame Danso District Court while the court was in session, vandalising furniture, fans, and other property in the process.

The statement further revealed that the mob forcibly freed two accused persons who were standing trial, whisking them away from lawful custody.
