Dutch "Torgbui" Donates ?58m for Potable Water

A DUTCH business tycoon, Mr. Arthur Paes, has donated ?58 million for the provision of potable water for the Adina community in the Ketu District in the Volta Region.

Paes, who is also the Ngoryifia (Development Chief) for the same Traditional Area, under the stool name Torgbui Dunenyo I, made a further presentation of ?10 million for the improvement of infrastructure in a community kindergarten named after him.

These were made known by Miss Patience Esi Pomary, former Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe North and Traditional Mother of Torgbui Dunenyo, at a ceremony at Agbozume as part of activities which marked the annual Ketu-Some Tutu za of the chiefs and people of Some traditional area.

Ms. Pomary further disclosed that Torgbui Dunenyo is in contact with a group of Brazillian salt industrialists to develop the lagoon between Adina and Agbozume into a viable salt industry.

Earlier, Torgbui Dunenyo presented a saloon car and a laptop computer to Torgbui Hor II of Some and the Ketu District Assembly respectively.

The Deputy Volta Regional Minister, Mr. Kofi Dzamesi thanked Torgbui Noryifia for his efforts to improve the living conditions of the people.

He also asked them to unite in order to achieve their development goals.
