The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr insists the real cause of the recent power crisis is 'money'.

The ruling government following frequent power outages has assured that the problem will be solved within twelve days.

They have attributed the cause of the 'dumsor' as it is popularly called to technical challenges even though several pundits believe it is more than that.

Contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Kwesi Pratt asked the ruling government to be truthful to Ghanaians and accept the fact that the energy sector is highly indebted.

"They should stop giving us excuses. The reality is that the power outages are affecting businesses. It is not due to generation capacity; it is due to heavy indebtedness. There is no money to pay for gas and so on," he said.

According to him, "if that debt is not cleared the dumsor will continue no matter the government in power".
