Former President John Dramani Mahama has waded into the controversial drone services for the delivery of blood and other medical essentials in the health sector saying “Instead of prioritising the needs of the health sector, the NPP government chose to acquire drones to fly blood.”

For him, since“this has been roundly condemned by the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) and the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists” the government ought to rethink the decision to prioritise drones services and rather execute critical needs of the health sector first.

Mr Mahama said while addressing supporters and other National Democratic Congress (NDC) faithful at the International Trade Fair Center in Accra after filing his nomination earlier to contest for the flagbearership slot in NDC.

Meanwhile, earlier today, December 17, 2018 just after submitting his forms, Mr. Mahama said he’s only seeking power to return NDC to government.

“We do not seek power for power sake. We seek power to return NDC into power to continue the good work that NDC was doing for this nation.”

He also vowed to pursue a positive campaign devoid of insults and name-calling.

“I want to promise you and pledge to you that I’ll maintain the ethics of a clean campaign and I am positive that at the end of the process John Dramani Mahama will emerge as a candidate of the National Democratic Congress,” he said.
