Driver in court for wrongful parking

Cape Coast, April 10, GNA - Robert Amarensah, a 30-year-old Nissan Urvan bus driver was on Thursday fined GH¢100 by a circuit court in Cape Coast for wrongful parking and endangering the lives of others. Amarensah pleaded guilty with the explanation that his vehicle developed a mechanical fault and since there was no mechanic around, he left it there to look for one. Prosecution told the court presided over by Mr Richard Asiedu-Badu that, on April 1, 2008 at about 1350 hours; the Mankessim MTTU on patrol duties came across a Nissan Urvan bus parked at the Mankessim roundabout, with passengers on board, causing traffic congestion. The prosecutor said, the driver who had no tangible reason for the wrongful parking was arrested and the vehicle impounded.
