Former vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday, October 27, 2025, visited the family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, to express his condolences and sign the book of condolence.
Accompanied by his wife, Samira Bawumia, the 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer was joined by former Majority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, former Minister of Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, former Minister of Works and Housing, and other party stalwarts.

The former First Lady is the longest-serving in that position, holding office from June 4, 1979, to September 24, 1979, under the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC); from December 31, 1981, to January 6, 1993, under the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), both military regimes headed by her husband; and from January 7, 1993, to January 6, 2001, during former President Jerry John Rawlings’ two terms as civilian Head of State.

Nana Konadu passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra at the age of 76.
