The Member of Parliament for Karaga, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, has announced the completion and handover of a 300-bed-capacity dormitory block to the Ambariyya Islamic Institute in Tamale, describing the project as a significant boost to education in the Northern Region.

Sharing the update in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Dr Amin Adam said the keys to the new facility were formally received by his grandfather, Afa Tanko, who led the delegation on behalf of the school and community.

He noted that the project was inspired by an earlier visit he paid to Afa Seidu, which sparked the vision to improve accommodation for students of the institute.

“Alhamdulillah! Today we handed over a 300-bed-capacity dormitory block to Ambariyya Islamic Institute in Tamale,” the Karaga MP wrote.

“This, I believe, will support the development of education in Tamale and the North generally.”

Dr Amin Adam paid glowing tribute to his late senior brother, Hajj Mufatahu Adam, who served as the contractor for the project but passed away before its completion.

The former Finance Minister described the moment as both fulfilling and emotional, given his brother’s central role in delivering the facility.

“Sadly, my senior brother, Hajj Mufatahu Adam, who was the contractor for the project, did not live to see the commissioning of this beautiful building he put up,” he said, expressing deep gratitude for his brother’s dedication and sacrifice.

Offering prayers for the departed, Dr Amin Adam added, “May Allah reward him with the blessings this project brings, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus. Aameen.”

He said the dormitory stands not only as an educational investment but also as a lasting legacy of service to the community and future generations.
