Dormaa hospital holds stakeholders' conference

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), June 11, GNA - Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital has held a day's stakeholders' meeting with officials of Dormaa-Ahenkro Local Council of Churches, at Dormaa-Ahenkro under the theme: "Evangelization Through Health Care - the Role of the Church". Highlights of the meeting included a presentation on the 'state of the hospital' and 'hospital-church collaboration 2010' and a memorandum of understanding aimed at harnessing resources of the church and hospital for the benefit of health care recipients.

General Manager of the West-Brong Presbytery Health Service, Mr. Fred Yaw Effah-Yeboah said that the Hospital had experienced improvement in infrastructural development and service delivery over the past years due to collaboration between the hospital and stakeholders. He said "So far we have held similar meetings with the hierarchy of the Presbyterian Church in Brong-Ahafo Region and the local media during which they acknowledged commitment towards their shared responsibility to see the hospital grow in leaps and bounds".

Reverend Felix John Yeboah, chairman of the Dormaa-Ahenkro Local Council of Churches, commended the hospital taking initiatives to develop the health facility.

Management of the hospital and Dormaa-Ahenkro Local Council of Churches endorsed a memorandum of understanding in which both parties would continue to regard themselves as development partners and contribute to processes designed within the confines of the Ghana Health Service and the Christian Health Association of Ghana to extend health care to the people. 11 June 10
