Don’t sell your children’s future-Dr. Bawumia

Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has cautioned Ghanaians against exchanging their votes with gifts.

He urged the electorate to avoid being swayed by the numerous gifts allegedly being doled out by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the vote buying purposes.

He challenged Ghanaians to secure a better future for their children by voting massively for the Nana Akufo Addo and all NPP Parliamentary candidates on December 7.

Dr. Bawumia was speaking at the Navrongo chief palace where he said, “Let us not exchange the future of our children with gifts of today that the NDC is sharing in attempt to change your minds; those gifts would be consumed but the education of our children will last forever and they will pass the benefits from one generation to the other.”

He added, “I am appealing to the people of Ghana to remain resolute in their determination to secure a better future for their children and avoid being swayed by the numerous gifts being doled out by the ruling party for vote buying purposes.

Dr. Bawumia thanked the Navro Pio-Adda and his elders for the warm reception and requested their blessing as the December 7 general elections draw closer.

“I want to thank Navro Pio-Adda and his elders for the warm reception accorded us and we are here to ask for your blessings as we approach December 7th which is barely two weeks away when we will decide the destiny of this country. “

Dr. Bawumia implied, “Hopefully, the people of Ghana would vote for a party that would provide Free Secondary School education for all of our children; this would be of great benefit to all of our families, every family in Navrongo and countrywide.”

He reminded the people of the need to retain the NPP Member of Parliament for Navrongo Central, Hon. Joseph Kofi Adda.

He also pledged the NPP’s determination to turn the three campuses of the University for Development Studies (UDS) into fully fledged public universities.

Dr. Bawumia used the opportunity to pay glowing tribute to the late former Vice-President of the Republic, Alhaji Aliu Mahama who was close friend to the Navro Pio-Adda.

He commended the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama for strengthening the chieftaincy institution and promised to emulate his shining example when giving the nod.

The acting Navro-Pio, Wekem Arthur Balinia Adda on his part thanked Dr. Bawumia for the courtesy call and assured the NPP of his blessings.
