Don’t follow NPP’s contest to Hell – Asiedu Nketiah to NDC

The National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has called on members of his party to avoid internal divisions, citing the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as an example.

Speaking to officials and members of the party in the Asuogyaman Constituency as part of his ongoing three-day Thank You Tour in the Eastern Region, which is taking place from September 17 to 19, 2025, Asiedu Nketiah said the NPP’s quest to elect a flagbearer has turned into a “contest to hell”.

“If we do what we want with the positions we’ve got, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen,” a citinewsroom.com report published on September 18, 2025, quoted him.

“What the NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flagbearer aspirants are criticising each other and enumerating the sins and faults of one another,” he added.

He stressed the need for the NDC to ensure unity and discipline to avoid infighting and sustain the government’s momentum.

He urged party members who have not received appointments to remain calm and united.

He further appealed to them to support the John Dramani Mahama government in delivering its mandate.

Asiedu Nketiah assured that dedicated members of the NDC will be duly rewarded for their support and patience.
