"Don't agitate for DCEs removal without cause

Bole (N/R), May 6, GNA - Alhaji Samson Siedu Abudu, the Bole District Chief Executive, has cautioned assembly members and the people of the Bole District against frequent agitations for the removal of their Chief Executives without any justifiable cause and at the slightest excuse. He said that attitude was impacting negatively on the development of the district as no DCE was left to stay long enough to execute any meaningful development in the area. Alhaji Abudu made these remarks in obvious reference to the change of three DCEs within two years in the former Kufuor Administration. In the voting, he polled 23 votes as against five, representing 82 percent of the total votes cast.

The DCE urged the assembly members to always use the proper procedure when they lose confidence in any DCE instead of resorting to rumours and insinuations without any evidence. He called for unity of purpose among assembly members and appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate for the development of the district. Mr. Stephen Sumani Nayina, Northern Regional Minister, told the DCE not to interfere in chieftaincy matters. Mr. Alhassan Shakuor Bukari, 35, a former employee of the National Investment Bank, has been confirmed as the DCE for Sawla/Tuna/Kalba District.

He polled 29 votes, representing 89 percent of the votes cast. In an earlier election, Mr.Saba Joseph polled 23 votes, representing 74 percent of the votes cast to become the Presiding Member of the Assembly/
