Doctors urged to rescind work-to-rule decision

Winneba Junction (C/R), May 21, GNA - The Winneba Junction branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appealed to the Ghana Medical Association (GMA) to rescind its work-to-rule decision and give government time to address their demand.

In a statement read by Mr Kofi Mintah, a leading member of the Party at a meeting at Winneba Junction on Tuesday, the branch pleaded with the doctors to temper justice with mercy.

Mr Mintah also noted that the demand for better conditions of service was a right for every worker, which no one could deny them. He, however said considering the critical role played by doctors, their work-to-rule action would have repercussions on the people. He appealed to the government to demonstrate goodwill and reach a compromise with the GMA over the issue.

The NDC also appealed to all workers to be reasonable in making demands for salary increments.
