The International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS) has announced the appointment of Divine Akotia as the First National President of its Ghana Chapter. This appointment marks a new phase in the organization’s mission to strengthen the promotion and protection of human rights in Ghana.
Akotia is a seasoned governance and development professional with extensive experience in Education, Corporate governance, and Human rights advocacy. He has served in key leadership positions, including Daewoo Engineering, KEPCO, Ditel Consult Ltd., LIB Ghana Ltd, and, until recently, Acting COO of the Chartered Institute of Restructuring and Insolvency Practitioners, Ghana (CIRIP-Ghana). He is also a Certified Governance Auditor and a project management professional with a strong record of advancing governance standards in Ghana’s corporate and public sectors.
The International Human Rights Protection Service (IHRPS) is a globally recognized non-governmental organisation with headquarters in Florida USA, dedicated to the promotion, protection, and defense of human rights, in alignment with the United Nations Charter and international conventions.
Through its work across over 20 several countries, IHRPS focuses on raising awareness, promoting access to justice, supporting vulnerable groups, and empowering communities through education and advocacy.
Under Akotia’s leadership, IHRPS Ghana will prioritise education as a human rights issue, foster community engagement, and build strong partnerships with government institutions, civil society, and international organizations to advance human rights across the country.
Speaking on his appointment, Akotia emphasised his commitment to strengthening the human rights framework in Ghana:
“This appointment is not just a personal honor but a call to service. IHRPS Ghana will work tirelessly to ensure that human rights in the area of education are protected, respected, and promoted at all levels of society.”
