PNC AND CPP Activists Says It Will Be Difficult To Beat Akilu Sayibu In Tamale North
The Tamale North constituency secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) Mr. Mohammed Nuhu Jingli and the Financial Secretary of the People National Convention (PNC) Mr. Seidu Naporo have hinted that, it will be impossible for any political party to beat the NPP parliamentary candidate for Tamale North Mr. Akilu Sayibu in next year’s election as a result of the committed and dedicated service he has rendered to the people of the constituency over the years.
Speaking on North Star’s newspaper review in Dagbanli last night, Messrs Naporo and Jingli explained that, their tour of the constituency so far has revealed that, Mr. Akilu Sayibu is on his way to a resounding victory. “We were told during our rounds that, Mr. Akilu Sayibu has secured admissions and scholarships to students within the Tamale North constituency among other support to the people”.
The people according to the PNC and CPP activists told them that, “If Mr. Akilu Sayibu could do all these things for his people even though he is not yet the MP, then he will do much more for the people should he be elected as the representative of the people of Tamale North.
Speaking on the same programme, Mr. Mohammed Polo, the Assemblyman for the Zogbeli Electoral Area in Tamale said, his interaction with the electorate of Tamale North has revealed that, Mr. Akilu Sayibu’s plans for students, farmers, women and Youth groups has revealed that, the people will be happy with him as their MP and urged the electorate in Tamale North to vote massively for Akilu Sayibu come 2012.
On his part a member of the Northern Region communications team of the NPP, Mr. Salifu Sule called on the people of Dagbon to move away from voting on chieftaincy issues to voting on developmental issues for their benefit and improvement. He added that, irrespective of who the NDC in particular would elect as their parliamentary candidate for Tamale North, that candidate will be defeated because the track record of the NDC in Tamale North is that of underdevelopment and hopelessness. He commented Master Jingli and Naporo for the objectivity in their analysis and called on them not to be shy to support Mr. Akilu Sayibu for Tamale North if they believe from deep down their hearts that, he is the best for the Tamale North constituency.
When contacted, Mr. Akilu Sayibu said he was humbled by the open show of confidence in him by members of other political parties in the Tamale North constituency and said that, he will be an MP for all should he win the Tamale North parliamentary seat next year.
