Did Obeng-Manu defect to NDC?

Accra - The Press Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Vincent Asiseh and the NDC have stated that Obeng Manu "defected to the NDC."

I personally find this statement very misleading and an outright lie by the NDC and Vincent Asiseh, because I can go to any extent to say for the ghost of my lawyer, father and indeed, a loved one (Obeng Manu), that he never "defected to the NDC.

It is very unfortunate that the NDC and Vincent Asiseh can go to this extent to lie about Obeng Manu of blessed memory, who long before his death, declared that he had quit active party politics and personally assumed the title "statesman".

If it is true that Obeng Manu "defected to the NDC" as requested and expected by the NDC, he would have been given an appointment by the NDC to the Supreme Court as a judge.

Again, if it is true that the late Obeng Manu "defected to the NDC", he would not have been laid in state in front of his house, and by the store room which the New Patriotic Party (NPP), did paint in its party colours and adorned with an emblem and which they now occupy as office at Seikwa.

The General Secretary of NPP, Mr. Dan Botwe, Mr. J. K. Koduah, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of NPP, including the Brong-Ahafo Regional and Seikwa constituency executives of NPP would not have come and unfurled the NPP flag throughout the period he laid in state and also escorted Obeng Manu's mortal remains under the banner of the Osono Party, to be buried in front of the estates he was building to the memory of his late mother.

This point is being stressed because after the moving tribute paid by Dr. John Bilson, the mourners remembered and realised the cruelty of the (P)NDC, the regime that inflicted the wicked and inhuman treatment on Obeng Manu for his excruciating, critical and a defiant stand against the regime, and if there was any serving (P)NDC element around, it would have been very bad.

This proves further that the NDC and Vincent Asiseh did not know and believe in what they wrote about the late Mr. Obeng Manu.

Vincent Asiseh, the Press Secretary of the NDC, must know, if he does not already know that, the lie, that has been told about Obeng Manu is very serious and it is a clear indication that, they (P)NDC) are prepared, at all costs, to steal the name and honours of Obeng Manu after his death and prostitute same, without any sense of shame.

Any reply to this write-up by the NDC, Vincent Asiseh or any of their agents under a pen name is awaited.
