Develop interest in eco-tourism

Abono (Ash), July 25, GNA - Madam Vida Asamoah, Manager of Lake Bosomtwe Paradise Resort, has appealed to Ghanaians to develop interest in eco-tourism, since the returns were quite enormous.

In an interview with the GNA at Abono, appealed to government to develop the Lake Bosomtwe area into an eco-tourist site to attract more visitors to generate income fore the development of the area. Madam Asamoah called for the building of roads and clinics, the provision of boats and beautification of the environs of the Lake to enhance tourism in the area.

She said people from all parts of the country could easily visit the Lake area because of it strategic location.

Madam Asamoah appealed to the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Assembly to improve the resort at the Lake and to train more life guides to save lives.

Mr Bright Addai-Mununkum, the District Chief Executive, said work on a 150-million-cedi clinic would soon start at Abono. The assembly, he said, was also rehabilitating a KVIP at Abono at a cost of 14 million cedis to improve upon sanitation there.
