Deutsche Bank’s UK chief back to his roots

Deutsche Bank’s UK chief Colin Grassie – better known among colleagues for his Ironman credentials – is going back to his roots in Ghana where he was born. The son of a civil engineer, who lived near Kumasi in southern central Ghana until he was seven, he has flown to a remote village in the north of the country with 45 bank staff for charity Afrikids.

Mr Grassie will have the honour of having the chief’s mud hut. The group will spend a few days in the village, farming, teaching and market trading, although that would be haggling over rice and beans rather than derivatives dealing.
