The Deputy Minister for Transport, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, has donated assorted food items to Muslim communities in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region.

The items included 100 bags of 50kg sugar, 100 packs of milk, 120 boxes of Lipton tea, 15 boxes of milk, 60 boxes of Victoria tea, and other supplies.

The gesture is expected to benefit Muslim communities across the constituency as they observe the 30-day fasting period.

Presenting the items to Muslim leaders at T1 on Sunday, March 1, 2026, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, called on them to pray to Allah to intervene in the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States.

“We want peace in this world; war is not good at all. So please use your fasting period to pray to Allah to intervene in the ongoing war between Iran and the Americans,” she appealed.

She also urged them to pray for Ghana and President John Dramani Mahama.

“Pray for Ghana and continue to pray for President John Dramani Mahama to lead the nation with divine wisdom,” she said.

She added, “Pray for me too, for strength and favour to do more for the good people of Jomoro.”

The MP pledged her commitment to promoting Islamic education in the constituency and promised to provide 100 bags of cement after Ramadan to help complete a nursery school structure.

She also assured the community of additional support during Eid al-Fitr, including 100 bags of rice, cooking oil, and boxes of tomatoes and sardines.

The Jomoro Municipal Chief Imam, Alhaji Jallo, commended Dorcas Affo-Toffey for the gesture and promised that the items would be distributed fairly among Muslim communities in the constituency.

He also pledged that the Muslim community would pray for peace in Iran and for Ghana as a whole.
