The recent attacks on the new regional security coordinator by a private security arm within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could never have happened under the leadership of the out-gone Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Kofi Boakye residents believe.

Residents within the Kumasi metropolis have eulogized the Director of Planning and Research for being in combating crimes during his tenure as police chief in the region.

“This barbaric and criminal act by of Delta Force will not even materialize if COP Kofi Boakye was still regional commander”, the residents told mynewsgh.com’s Kwabena Danso-Dapaah.

“The meekness of the new commander might have motivated the group to carry their evil acts…We plead with COP Ken Yeboah to wake up as commander in charge and deal ruthlessly with anyone who wants to take the laws into his/her hands ”

“If he cannot raise the bar of his predecessor, he should maintain the peace and order bequeathed him”, some worried residents told DCOP Ken Yeboah .

“Unlike COP Kofi Boakye who was visible ubiquitous, we do not see his successor this way. We think he should maintain the bar of raise it to redeem the image of the Police Service in the region”.

COP Kofi Boakye until his appointment as Director of Research and Planning at the police headquarters was the longest serving commander in the region.

He chalked a lot of successes in fighting armed robbery cases and other form of crimes which earned him the name “Commander One” from the people.
