Delle to transform CPP in six months

for victory in 2012

Hohoe, June 29, GNA - Prof Edmund Delle, one of the candidates seeking to become Chairman of the Convention Peoples' Party (CPP) on Tuesday said he would transform the Party in six months to win the 2012 general elections.

"CPP is in a crisis so this is not the time to experiment, just give me six months, I will inject life back into the Party as an old soldier and catapult it into victory in 2012," he said.

Prof. Delle, a dermatologist, was addressing delegates from the northern part of the Volta Region at Hohoe.

He said having been Chairman of the Party before he knew the challenges and the way to victory.

Prof Delle said once elected as Chairman he would use the first six months to revive the Party's Women and Youth Wings and network all the district and regional secretariats to make the CPP very visible across the country.

"I will ensure that all secretariats are well furnished and mobile, making it the great Party it used to be," he said.

Prof. Delle said divisionism remained a major challenge to the Party and with a track record as a peace broker he would initiate moves to ensure internal unity and also work towards bringing all Nkrumahists together for electoral victory in 2012.

He said he had decided to dedicate his entire life to Party work to ensure that the CPP won political power and called for support from all.
