Deliberately, strategically grow Ghanaian millionaires – Duncan-Williams

The founder and General Overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has advised Ghanaian governments to make deliberate attempts to empower local businessmen and women to become millionaires.

According to him, Ghana should follow the Chinese and American examples of raising millionaires and billionaires to create jobs for the teeming unemployed graduates in the country.

“China has been very deliberate to raise billionaires and empower them, their own nationals; we have over 800 billionaires in China, America has over 500 billionaires in the United States. I think the government of Ghana should be very deliberate about this and say: ‘We want to raise 100 millionaires in this country and we want to empower them from both sides of the aisle’. So, you pick from NPP, you pick from NDC and pick from CPP and empower them as long as they are doing genuine business and they are good citizens and they are paying their taxes and they are employing people and they are giving peoples’ families livelihoods”, Archbishop Duncan-Williams who has been in the Christian ministry for 40 years said on Friday, 4 October 2019.

“We should be deliberate about it and say: ‘We’re picking 100 businessmen and women from the market place, we’ll empower them, we’ll make sure they succeed, governments will be behind them and make sure they create jobs for all these student graduates coming out of the universities so that when they come out of school, they don’t become burdens on their families, their parents and on society and I believe if we start something like that and not just empower people from our parties but from other parties and help them and let them feel that it doesn’t matter what party is in power if I’m a Ghanaian and I’m creative, innovative, I’m doing the right thing, I’m not breaking the laws, I’m free to prosper, to do well within my own country, I don’t have to go anywhere to succeed, I can succeed in my own country and live the life I want to live if I genuinely earn the money and nobody should see me as a problem and as an enemy because I’ve succeeded.

“We have to create that kind of environment,” the Archbishop said in an interview with Daniel Dadzie on Accra-based Joy FM.

Recently, the Archbishop descended on Ghanaian governments for destroying local businessmen while other countries like Nigeria have created billionaires like Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote.
