Death of Adukrom Chief announced.

Adukrom-Akuapem (E/R) Nov. 27 GNA - The death is reported of Nana Otutu Ababio IV Chief of Adukrom-Akuapem.

Nana Ababio, who was also the President of the Council of Chiefs of Akuapem Anafo, Guan and Okere, died on September 13, at the age of 93. He reigned for 45 years and left behind three wives and 27 children. Nana Asare Brempong, Acting Chief for Okere announced this at the Joint Consultative Council meeting of the chiefs and people of Akuapem Anafo,Guan and Okere at Adukrom on Saturday.

The meeting also marked the handing over of the Presidency of the council to Otobour Djan Kwasi II, Chief of Akuapem Anafo.

He succeeds the late Nana Otutu Ababio who occupied the seat for six years. Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Djan Kwasi pledged to continue the good works of his predecessor to enhance the socio-economic development of the areas.

He called for support and co-operation from the chiefs and people to find solution to the dispute between the three states and the Okuapem paramount stool, headed by Nana Addo Dankwah, Omanhene which led to the split in 1994.

" I am sure if we show these noble attributes our subjects are ready to lend their unflinching support and understanding to us to bring Akuapem together once more." he stressed.

He called on the people to vote wisely and massively during the December 7 elections.

Nana Asiedu Okoo Ababio III, Chief of Larteh Guan said the late Nana Otutu Ababio contributed immensely towards the development of the three states.

He called on the chiefs and people to give their maximum support to Otobour Djan Kwasi in the performance of his duties.
