A former Director of Elections of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah wants certain articles in the party’s constitution invoked in order to sanction rampaging youth of the Savelugu-Nanton Municipality of the Northern Region.

“I expect John Boadu and Freddie Blay to immediately take action and deal with them. There are structures in the party that must be followed but if they have decided to ignore these and flout the party’s structures with impunity, they must be dealt with”, he said on Okay Fm.

He said the conduct of the youth is denigrating the image of the party and should not be entertained indicating that their current action smacks of personal hatred against Hajia Ayishetu Seidu who was nominated by the president and confirmed by the assembly.

“I will call the gentleman who speaks for them to calm him and advise him that if he does not take care, he may land himself in trouble .There is a different way they can use to let their grievances be heard. Their current stance is giving us a bad name and is needless because is giving us bad press and we cannot continue like this. They are disgracing the party”, he observed.

Abdul Karim Zakari who is a leader of the group, said they have been let down by the President himself who promised he was going to reward loyalty only to give a position to someone who is a complete alien to the two constituencies in the area.

“We were promised by the President that he will consult polling station executives in choosing an MCE for the area but this one was not done. We can work with anyone in the constituency but not Hajia Ayishetu Seidu. If the President continues to allow her in the office, we will vote against him in 2020 because he has disappointed us”, a leader of the group, Abdul Karim Zakari disclosed on Accra-based Okay Fm.
