David Tamakloe, the Managing Editor of Whatsup News, has been elected President of the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG).
Tamakloe, who is also the Editor of the New Republic newspaper, polled 87 votes in the election held on August 19, 2025, beating his contender, Awudu Mahama, who polled 34 votes.

The election also saw Michael Antwi Agyei elected Vice President of PRINPAG, and Prince Mayembe Kaunda elected Organising Secretary.
Naana Akleh Fordia was also elected Treasurer, while Emmanuel Opare Gyan was elected Public Affairs Officer.
