Veteran Accra Great Olympics defender Dan Quaye has reiterated his desire to feature for the Black Stars, downplaying concerns about his age.

The 36-year-old was a member of the Black Stars squad that qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany and is currently playing for Great Olympics in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The highly experienced defender, has slammed the assertion of many Ghanaians who claim he is too old to play for the Black Stars and still maintains his desire to play for Ghana.

“I am ever ready to play for the Black Stars again, when you look at Egyptian goalkeeper El Hadari even at age 40, he was still playing for the Pharoahs, but in Ghana when you play for a while they label you an aged player and they talk too much.

The only thing that can curtail your football career is when you suffer a major injury. Playing football is about how talented you are and not about your age,” he told Asempa FM.
