Dan Lartey Snubs Wahala

After several months in the political doldrums, the outspoken septuagenarian leader of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr. Dan Lartey has finally found his discordant voice and descended heavily on the ongoing series of ?wahala' demonstrations as baseless and useless ventures.

Mr. Dan Lartey has also confirmed the widely held suspicion that the founder of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President Jerry Rawlings is a key architect of the ?wahala' demonstrations despite public disassociation of him by the officials of the ?wahala' bandwagon.According to him, the ex-president personally invited him to join the demonstrations, something he said he declined.

He said he also declined invitations by other leaders of the wahala demonstrations to join because they had not established the basis to go on the streets nationwide. The 78-year-old political leader in his usual wobbling voice and gestures said the organisers of the wahala demos have not made the appropriate demand from the government to establish a firm basis for which the demonstration is being carried out. "I cannot therefore join a baseless demonstration," he asked.
