DCE for Nkoranza North calls for unity

Busunya (B/A), June 14, GNA - Mr. Kwadwo Adjei-Dwomoh, the Nkoranza North District Chief Executive, has advised the people in the area to bury their political differences and to unite and initiate programmes that would promote development.

Addressing the chiefs and people of Busunya, Mr. Adjei-Dwomoh said the district assembly was to provide accommodation for staff and also build a mini assembly block to serve as offices for the decentralized departments. The meeting formed part of an outreach programme by the assembly to educate the people about the programmes and policies the assembly had in place for the people.

Mr. Adjei-Dwomoh said similar meetings would be held at Dromankese, Yefri, Kranka and Manso that serve as zonal centres of the district. He said the people of Busunya and Manso would soon benefit from Small Town Water System that would cost the assembly GHC 2 million, adding that more than 36 boreholes would be sunk in the communities under the Community Water and Sanitation Programme.

Under the National Youth and Employment Programme the Chief Executive said a number of the youth had been selected for consideration in the various modules to ease the unemployment rate. Some of the youth would be engaged at the Ghana Health, Ghana Education and Ghana Police services as well as the Prisons and Immigration services whilst others would be assisted to go into dressmaking, carpentry and the study of Information Communication Technology (ICT). Nana Yaw Amo, Krontihene of Busunya, called on the assembly members to cooperate with the District Chief Executive to move the district forward.
