Customers with truncated Sim Cards should visit our offices - Kasapa

Kasapa Telecom Limited, operators of the Expresso Service, has appealed to customers who might have been cutout of the system after the SIM card registration deadline to contact their offices with the required documents.

Mr Alexander Addo, the Cape Coast branch manager of the Company, explained that the network will contact the National Communications Authority (NCA) to verify from their database if such customers could have their registration confirmed. He said this during an interview with the GNA in Cape Coast on Monday and appealed to the public who have registered but have had their service truncated to feel free to walk into their offices and seek redress.

Mr Addo said the SIM card registration was a policy of the NCA that seeks to ensure the security of SIM card of mobile device users to help avoid dual ownership and also to help the nation’s security apparatus to monitor calls and internet usage.

He said for the telecommunication networks, it will enable them identify their customers and assist the security agents in checking fraud in the telecom system.

Mr Addo asked that minors and people who could not register because they did not have any of the national identification cards could still register with the help of a guarantor who has known them for a long time and could certify for them.

He said the NCA has made numerous announcements on television, radio, newspapers and the internet to sensitize Ghanaians to register their SIM cards.
