The Ministry of the Interior has reviewed the curfew hours on Bimbilla and Kpatinga in the Northern Region.

The curfew on Bimbilla is from 1800 hours to 0600 hours effective Friday, January 12, 2018 (previously 2200 hours to 0400 hours.)

The curfew for Kpatinga and its environs is from 12:00 midnight to 0400 hours, effective Friday, January 12, 2018.

A statement signed by Mr Ambrose Dery, the Sector Minister and copied to the Ghana News Agency, said the renewal of the curfew was upon the advice of the Northern Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument.

It urged the people to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them and to use non-violent means to ensure peace in the area.

The statement reminded them that the ban on carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapons is still in force and that any person found with arms and ammunitions would be arrested and prosecuted.
