A set of twins, Seth Amoah senior and Seth Amoah junior have been remanded into prison custody by the Tarkwa Circuit Court for abetment and rape.

Their pleas were not taken and they would re-appear on July 29.

The Prosecutor, Police Detective Chief Inspector Oscar Amponsah told the court, presided over by Mr Alex Obeng Asante that the complainant John Akorlo is a farmer and father to the 18-year-old victim.

He said the accused persons who are unemployed and 21 years-old lived in the same neighbourhood with the complainant and the victim at Wasa Bonakrom near Oppon Valley.

According to Detective Amponsah, on April 19, around 1230 pm, the victim was returning home after running errands for her mother.

On reaching a section of the road, the Prosecutor said she met the accused persons and they proposed love to her.

He said in the process they lured her into an abandoned farm at a cottage and the second accused person forcibly held the hands of the victim and the first accused person had sexual intercourse with her on a bench.

After the act the victim rushed home in tears and informed the complainant but he failed to report the incident to the police for investigation.

Detective Amponsah said on June 9 the complainant noticed that, the victim was pregnant and when he questioned her as to who was responsible, the victim mentioned the first accused as the one.

The issue was therefore reported to the Oppon Valley police where a police medical form report was issued to the victim to attend hospital for detailed examination and report.

The Prosecutor said a medical report from Wasa Akropong Government Hospital proved the victim was two months pregnant.
