Accra, July 22, GNA - A Circuit Court in Accra on Thursday issued a bench warrant for the arrest of a Businessman, Alhaji Habibu Dramani, who allegedly defrauded a colleague of 430 million cedis.
Dramani charged with defrauding by false pretences and five counts of issuing false cheques failed to appear before the Court presided over by Mrs Wilhemina Hammond.
The case of the Prosecution was that the complainant was Alhaji Abuba Shaibu of Nasuna Company Limited, dealers in petroleum products. Prosecution said between January and April, this year, Dramani purchased diesel and petroleum products on credit from the Company to the tune of 430 million cedis.
Dramani later issued five different post-dated cheques to five different banks to defray the cost.
When the complainant presented the cheques at the banks at their maturity dates they were dishonoured.
The accused had sold all the petroleum and diesel products supplied to him.
