Court fines pito seller for assault

Ejisu (Ash), April 1, GNA - A 33-year-old pito seller, Veronica Morris has been fined 500,000 cedis by the Ejisu magistrate court for assaulting Environmental Health officers.

In default, she will serve a six-month prison term. She pleaded guilty to the charge.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector G.K. Torsu told the court presided over by Mr Noble Nkrumah that the complainants are Environmental Health officers at Ejisu.

He said they were on a house-to-house inspection on March 20, this year and found human excreta rapped in a polythene bag kept in the compound of the accused house.

The prosecutor said Morris not satisfied with the query from the officers, rained insults on them.

Inspector Torsu said a report was made to the Ejisu police, who arrested the accused and after investigations charged her with the offence.
