A newly married couple, Salifu Abdul Rashad and Ayisha Alhassan, have lost their lives in a fatal motor accident at Gurugu, near Tamale, shortly after their wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 21, 2025.
The tragic news was shared on the X page of EDHUB on Monday, June 23, 2025, with the caption, “A newly married couple has died following a fatal road crash at Gurugu, near Tamale, shortly after their marriage ceremony yesterday.”
According to the post, the incident occurred while the couple was on a motorbike, en route to visit family members.
"Their motorbike collided with a vehicle, resulting in the immediate death of the wife. The husband, who sustained critical injuries, was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the hospital," it added.
