The Council of State has extended warm congratulations to President John Dramani Mahama following the successful passage of a United Nations resolution addressing slavery and its enduring global consequences as rhetoric "gravest crime against humanity."
In a press statement issued on March 27, 2026, from the council’s office at the State House in Accra, the advisory body praised the president for what it described as a “distinguished success” at the United Nations General Assembly.
