Yesterday, the coronavirus outbreak became more serious when the World Health Organization described it as a pandemic.

This triggered a number of responses from governments around the world who have started taking steps to fight it.

The US President Donald Trump, after coronavirus became a pandemic, announced that it will suspend all travels from Europe (except Britain) to America.

In Ghana, President Akufo Addo announced a $100 million budget to prepare the country against the virus.

President Akufo Addo’s statement came right after a fake news claiming that a coronavirus case has been reported at the University of Ghana, Legon went viral.

Since, then the University of Ghana Student Representative Council President Isaac Agyemang exclusively confirmed to Kuulpeeps.com that no coronavirus case has been recorded at the university.

Meanwhile, the University of Cape Coast announced sweeping precautionary measures it is taking to prepare the university community.

Some of the measures include the suspension of all international programmes, exchange programmes, international visits from professors among others.

The 11-point statement also urged members of the university community to remain calm and not panic as the university is working with the Central Regional Health Directorate, University Health Directorate, School of Medical Sciences and the School of Nursing to sensitize them about coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

Stay safe guys.
