Cop stabbed with broken bottles

A 28-year-old policeman attached to the Rapid Deployment Force (RDP) of the Ghana Police Service in Tema narrowly escaped death when he was stabbed by some unidentified men at Ada-Foah in the Greater Accra Region.

The police officer, Constable Freeman Felix Agama, has sustained various degrees of injuries in his face, stomach and other parts of his body.

He was said to have sustained the injuries following a misunderstanding that ensued at a drinking spot, identified as Rub-stone Bar, in the aforementioned area. The unknown assailants reportedly got angry and broke bottles which they used in stabbing him.

Constable Agama was in a critical condition at the Police Hospital in Accra where he was rushed to. The Ada District Police have mounted a vigorous search for the attackers, who reportedly sped off in a Toyota Corolla Salon car with registration number GT 2305-12 after the act. Police Source told DAILY GUIDE that the injured policeman had closed from night patrol duty last Monday at about 4:30am and visited a colleague at the Ada-Foah Police Station. He reportedly went to the drinking spot in question to drink.

According to the information, police were yet to establish what triggered the misunderstanding between the public officer and the four civilians. Police is said to have commenced investigation into the matter as they were searching for the perpetrators of the act. They have therefore called on the public to assist with information which could lead to the assailants’ arrest.
