Consulate of Bulgaria to the Republic of Ghana opens on November 1

The Consulate of Bulgaria to the Republic of Ghana will be opening on November 1, 2018.

The consulate is located on 8 Kakramadu Road East Cantonments in Accra opposite the former Embassy of Bulgaria.

Honorary Consul Nicolaas C.M. van Staalduinen, a former Honorary Consul for Ghana to the Netherlands was appointed in 2017 by Parliament in Bulgaria and received his Ex Equatur (confirmation) of the President of the Republic of Ghana recently.

The Embassy of Bulgaria had been temporary closed down for budgetary reasons for several years but the re-opening of the Consulate means Ghana and Bulgaria have renewed their diplomatic ties.

Bulgaria is one of the youngest member states of the European Union and a known tourist destination for summer and winter holidays. Bulgaria is one of the few countries in the world with beautiful sea sides at the Black Sea, mountains for winters ports and beautiful historic cities of which Plovdiv; one of the oldest cities in the world is the pearl in the crown.

The country has a long agricultural reputation and exports potatoes and fruits as well as wine and meat products to the rest of the European Union.

Bulgaria is a favorite study destination for medical, engineering and agricultural students. Not only does Bulgaria provide education on EU levels but it also does so at study fees and entrance requirements which are the most competitive in the whole EU.
