Principal Kingmakers and elders of Ga Royal Paramount Stool have warned members of theAbola Piam Tunma Family together with Nii Tackie Oblilie and his cohorts to desist from causing what they described as “unnecessary troubles and confusions within Ga State or face their wrath.”

According to them, the pronouncement by some illegitimate members of the Abola Piam Tunma We led by Nii Tackie Oblilie and Nii Ofoli Gakpo II that per the order of succession to ascend the Ga Mantse throne, it was now the turn of Abola Piam Family was completely false.

At a counter press conference in Accra yesterday, Ga Paramount Stool Kingmakers including the Heads of the four Royal Ruling Houses of the Ga State, who are the kingmakers and custodians of the Ga Paramount Stool and its properties, stressed that they would be compelled to prosecute Nii Tackie Oblilie, Nii Ofoli Gakpo andtheir collaborators in the law court if they fail to heed to this warning.

According to the Ga Kingmakers Council, their attention has been drawn to a petitioned filed at the Registrar of the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs attributed to Nii Tackie Oblilie and Nii Ofoli Gakpo, disclaiming the installation of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as the Ga Mantse.

They averred that Nii Tackie Oblilie, Nii Ofoli Gakpo and their followers also made certain unprovoked statements and allegations against some distinguished personalities as being behind the enstoolment of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II by Ga Principal Kingmaker, Nii Dr. Tetteh Kwei II.

They therefore questioned the authority with which Nii Tackie Oblilie and Nii Ofoli Gakpo used to make those pronouncements.

They stressed that the turn to nominate a royal candidate to be vested and screened for the position of Ga Mantse, according to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase dated March 2005 was Abola Piam Royal Ruling House.

According to the Ga Kingmakers Council, the customary duties were officially presented to Abola Piam Royal Ruling House by elders of Dr. Nii Tetteh Kwei II on March 14 2017, after after the funeral and burial of the late substantive Ga Mantse, Boni Nii Amugi II on January 27, 2007.

They explained that after accepting the privilege Abola Piam Royal ruling house informed the Ga Paramount Royal Stool Dzase that it had instituted a petition at the Judicial Committee of the Greater Accra Region House Chiefs against King Tackie Tawiah III, aka Dr. Jo Blankson, Nii Akropong III, Nii Tetteh Ashong IV and others since King Tackie Tawiah III has seen inducted into the Ga Traditional Council (GTC) as its president and he was also performed the duties and functions of Ga Mantse at Ga Paramount Stool House Room at Aboal in Accra.

They noted that in 2009, Abola Piam Royal Ruling House nominated three candidates in the persons of Kudja Okai Thomas, Gorge Tackie and Emmanuel Ayikuma Vandore to the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase for vetting, and screening at the end of this traditional exercise, all the three candidates were rejected due their unsuitability.

According to them, Abola Piam Royal ruling house was given another chance and the house brought other candidates who are Henry Ayitey Aryeetey and Dr. Kelvin Tackie respectively were present to contest the position but the report on both has been withheld by Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II, who the then acting Ga Paramount Stool kingmaker.

“The said Nii Yaote Oto-Ga II who is not eligible to be Ga kingmaker on his own authority purports to have nominated, selected and installed George Tackie as Ga Mantse with a break into the Ga Paramount Stool Room, with the support of armed handguards on June 11, 2011, whilst there was a sitting Ga Mantse in the person of [H1] King Tackie Tawiah III.

They pointed out that the Judicial Committee of GARHCs on July 18, 2008 empowered King Tackie Tawiah III to perform the functions and duties of Ga Mantse, until the final determination of the consolidated petitions. They indicated that Judicial Committee of GARHCs on April 1, 2014 ruled that the Ga Paramount Stool was vacant.

According to them, Nii Taote Oto-Ga II who purports to have installed Nii Tackie Adam Latse II, asGa Mantse on April 14, 2014 applied to the Judicial Committee of GARHCs for a review of the decision dated on April 1 2014.

In the review Judicial Committee of GARHCs dated February 2, 2015, they mentioned that principal kingmakers and elders of Ga royal paramount stool mentioned that the committee empowered the Ga Paramount Royal Dzase Council and the Ga Paramount Stool Kingmakers and the parties involved to “put their homes in order and do the proper things.”

According to them on April 1 2015, the Ga Dzase Council together with the Ga kingmaker (Dzasetse) held a stakeholders meeting in which the Council stated that it was setting agenda towards the nomination, selection and installation of Ga Mantse.

To achieve the above objectives, the stated that the drinks were officially presented to Abola Priam Royal Ruling House to nominate a royal candidate for vetting.

“Again on May 2015, the Abola Piam Royal Ruling House officially presented the names ofd Kudja Okai Thomas, Gorge Tackie, Emmanuel Ayikuma Vandore and Henry Ayitey Aryeetey to the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase yto be vetted and screened as the candidates. But after vetting or screening of the above candidates all of them were found not to be suitable for the present turn,” they explained.

They said the Ga Dzase Council had no other option than to move to the next Ga Royal ruling house in accordance with the MoU between the four royal ruling houses executed in March 2005.

They explained that the customary duties were presented to the next royal ruling house which is Nii Teiko Tsuru in June 2015 to nominate royal candidate for vetting and screening by the Ga Dzase Council.

Upon this development the Nii Teiko Tsuru royal ruling house officially nominated Dr. Kelvin Nii Abia Tackiew to be the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase which in June 2015 vetted/screened and found him suitable for the present turn.

They noted that on August 2015, Dr. Kelvin Nii Abia Tackie was customary, constitutional selected as the Ga Mantse elect and on October 20, 2017 was customary and constitutional installed the sustentative Ga Mantse under the stool name King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II.

The traditional installation of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, according to them was in conformity with the final ruling of the Judicial Committee of the GARHCs dated April 1, 2014 and February 2, 2015 respectively.
