Health officials in Kwahu Obomeng are raising concerns over a shortage of condoms during the Easter festivities, as thousands of revelers flood the town for the annual celebrations.
The festive atmosphere, known for drawing large crowds to Kwahu, has led to a sharp increase in demand for condoms, leaving some areas at Obomeng temporarily without supply.
For health workers on the ground, the situation is worrying but not unexpected.
According to a report on adomonline.com, in response, medical teams have intensified public education efforts, reminding people to prioritise their health even as they enjoy the celebrations.
Revelers are being encouraged to plan by carrying condoms and even keeping them in personal first aid kits, especially for those who may feel uncomfortable buying them in public.
“We are advising everyone to protect themselves. If you cannot buy condoms openly, you can keep them in your first aid kits. The goal is to reduce the risk of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections,” a health official stated.

Across the town, health personnel are reportedly working actively to bridge the gap.
They are distributing free condoms and offering voluntary HIV/AIDS testing services, making it easier for people to access protection and know their status.
Despite the lively mood that defines Easter at Kwahu, officials are urging individuals not to lose sight of their well-being.
They are calling on the public to act responsibly and take advantage of the free services available, stressing that staying safe is just as important as celebrating.
